March 9 – Purim Family Day at the Capital Jewish Museum

Purim is just around the corner and you’re invited to celebrate with the Capital Jewish Museum and the Washington Revels!

Join us to design your own crowns, masks, and capes, decorate groggers, explore JewCE: the Jewish Comics Experience (complimentary access with a Family Day ticket), and purchase delicious hamantaschen from Sunflower Bakery. Then, don your costumes and get loud for a one-of-a-kind JewCE! themed Purim spiel at 3:30pm, written and directed by the Washington Revels.

May 3 (4pm) – May Revels at the National Cathedral

Washington Revels will close the annual All Hallows Guild Flower Mart held at the Washington National Cathedral on May 3 at 4pm. We will process to the front steps of the cathedral (or inside the Cathedral, if there is rain)—dressed in traditional May “whites” with colorful sashes and flower wreathes—to celebrate the greening of the year with song, dance, and merry mumming.

February 8 – Frederick Douglass Birthday Celebration

Celebrate Frederick Douglass’s 207th birthday and Black History Month at this event hosted at Martha’s Table! Join Washington Revels Jubilee Voices at the Opening Ceremonies for this annual program celebrating the “Lion of Anacostia,” Frederick Douglass. The celebration includes music by the Jubilee Voices, a puppet show by Ebony Sonshine, and a Jazz performance by the Finn Murphy Quartet.
