May 3 (11am) – Celebrate the Spring at Glen Echo Park

On May 3rd, join Washington Revels as we chase away Winter and celebrate the seasonal re-opening of the 102-year-old Dentzel Carousel at Glen Echo Park Partnership’s annual Carousel Day! At 11:00 a.m., we will provide a festive musical procession throughout the park, followed by a performance by Gallery Voices (11:15 a.m. until Noon). All are then invited to take part in some joyous dancing around the Maypole at Noon.

November 16 – Talbot Ave. Bridge Lantern Walk

Members of Heritage Voices will lead and teach songs at the 2024 Talbot Avenue Bridge Lantern Walk. The Walk is an annual fun, family-friendly local community event that weaves together neighborhoods once divided by racial segregation and fittingly takes place during Montgomery County’s Remembrance and Reconciliation Month.

Feb. 18 – Jubilee Voices at the Alexandria Lyceum

Washington Revels Jubilee Voices will explore the Gullah-Geechee culture and life on St Simons Island, Georgia in the program, “Wade in the Water.” Developed in partnership with Georgia-based Mercer University, this presenttion combines stories of the Gullah Geechee community told through six student films, with music and spoken word.
