Washington National Cathedral on May 7 at 4pm. We will process to the front steps of the cathedral (or inside the Cathedral, if there is rain)—dressed in traditional May “whites” with colorful sashes and flower wreathes—to celebrate the greening of the year with song, dance, and merry mumming. The Washington Revels chorus of adults, teens, tweens, and children will be joined by the Whiskey Before Breakfast Band (and friends!), to present a festive celebration of the month of May. We will sing, dance, crown a May monarch, present a Spring mummers’ play, wind the traditional Maypole with colored ribbons, and invite you to join in the fun with sing-alongs (including the Rattlin’ Bog!). This family-friendly event will have you jumping for joy!
