Be a part of a spectacular holiday tradition!
Washington Revels announces adult (ages 18+) auditions for its 43rd annual holiday production. Join our 40-person adult chorus for this year’s show, “Andalusian Treasures,” and bring a delightful blend of music, dance and story to life!
Our tale begins in ancient Spain. Three foolish adventurers stumble upon a secret treasure room. The treasure glows with a magical light that seems to bring inestimable joy. When that light disappears on the darkest night of the year, a quest begins. What is the light? Can it be rekindled?
This fully staged production takes us on a magical journey to celebrate the rich cultural legacies of the Moorish, Sephardic, and Iberian peoples—including exquisite Arab-Andalusian and Sephardic music; lively Villancicos (Spanish folk carols); a Sevillanas (flamenco-style dance); a comic “play within a play;” and, in classic Revels tradition, opportunities for the audience to join in carols, rounds, and more!
At the core of every Revels production is a volunteer chorus. Cast members are people who love to sing, who are enthusiastic about bringing music to life on stage, and who come from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and experience levels.
