March 9 – Purim Family Day at the Capital Jewish Museum

Family Day: Purim PartyPurim is just around the corner and you’re invited to celebrate with the Capital Jewish Museum and the Washington Revels!

Join us to design your own crowns, masks, and capes, decorate groggers, explore JewCE: the Jewish Comics Experience (complimentary access with a Family Day ticket), and purchase delicious hamantaschen from Sunflower Bakery. Then, don your costumes and get loud for a one-of-a-kind JewCE! themed Purim spiel at 3:30pm, written and directed by the Washington Revels.

Purim is about creating joy and reveling in the silliness of life, and costumes help add to the atmosphere for all. Cross dressing and masks are encouraged. Purim is historically also a day of support and aid, and the disguising of one’s identity allowed people to both request support and give generously without impacting community opinions.

Please note: This is a “Pay What You Wish” ticket. Suggested price is $5 per person, but no family need pay more than $20. Ticket does include complimentary access to our special exhibition, JewCE!: The Jewish Comics Experience.
