May 12/13 – Adult Auditions for The Christmas Revels

Be a part of a spectacular holiday tradition seen by 10,000 people each December!

Washington Revels announces adult auditions for The Christmas Revels: The Medieval Tale of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Join our adult chorus and bring to life an exuberant blend of music, dance and story as we return to GW Lisner Auditorium to honor the season.

For our 41st annual Revels, we will journey to Camelot, to the time of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Our mysterious tale will be woven together with English and French music of the period, delightful Revels favorites, and many opportunities for the audience to join in the fun, including a raucous version of St. George and the Dragon “en Franglais.”

This year’s show features a multigenerational cast, ages 8 to 80, portraying two courts—the legendary ladies and gallant knights of King Arthur’s Round Table in Camelot, and the mysterious Green Court of the Lord and Lady Bercilak—as Sir Gawain’s tale unfolds in an evening of beauty, magic, and celebration!

The Christmas Revels volunteer chorus is at the core of every production. Cast members are people who love to sing, who are enthusiastic about bringing music to life on stage, and who come from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and experience levels. 

COVID Policy for Auditions – All adult auditionees must be fully vaccinated with at least one booster. We are asking everyone to wear masks while waiting to audition indoors.
