Experience Music of the Civil War

Join the Washington Revels Jubilee Voices, the Alliance to Preserve the Civil War Defenses of Washington and the National Park Service at Fort Stevens on Saturday, July 15 (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.), to celebrate the music of the Civil War, and to learn more about the Battle of Fort Stevens, which was fought July 11-12, 1864, in what is now Northwest Washington, D.C.

Jubilee Voices is part of a lineup of groups who specialize in music of the Civil War Era, including the 8th “Green Machine” Regiment Band, Doug Jimerson & the Civil War Comrades, a Fife & Drum Corps, and Buglers. The event will include historical reenactors and historic characters, exhibits, and more. The day begins with opening ceremonies at 10 a.m.; Jubilee Voices will perform at noon.
