July 4 – Takoma Park Parade

March and Sing in the 2022 Takoma Park Independence Day Parade!

Revelers of ALL ages are invited to join Washington Revels in this colorful and lively parade. Let’s show a special summer side of Washington Revels to thousands of July 4th spectators! If you prefer, come sit curbside and cheer with the festive crowd.

As always, our joyous and robust band of paraders — adults, teens, and children — will dress in colorful clothing and Washington Revels will supply festive ribbon sticks, parade props, and banners! Kids are welcome (including kids in strollers), but children under 13 must be accompanied in the parade by a responsible adult.

The day’s events are planned, directed, and financed mainly by the efforts of the all-volunteer Takoma Park Independence Day Committee (TPIDC), with the cooperation of the Departments of the City of Takoma Park and the Mayor and Council. TPIDC is a small group of volunteers who work hundreds of hours each year to make the celebration a success. In addition to the parade, the festivities continues throughout the day, culminating in an Evening Street Party from 5:30-9:00 pm on Maple Ave, between Philadelphia Ave & Ritchie Ave.
