November 21 – Virtual Community Sing

Singing as a Virtual Community

Join us for the monthly Carpe Diem Arts-Washington Revels Community & Family Sing online! For November we raise our voices in celebration of Native American Heritage Month, World Freedom Day (Nov. 9), National Adoption Day (Nov. 21), and Thanksgiving.

Featured artists include luminaries and award-winning artists:

  • Munit Mesfin from Ethiopia with daughters Meezan and Ayana
  • John McCutcheon with his glorious “Happy Adoption Day” song
  • Kevin Locke renowned Lakota hoop dancer, flute player and singer
  • Kinobe from Uganda, multi-instrumentalist and cultural ambassador

Instructions on how to participate are available at Carpe Diem’s website. You can also watch the November Community Sing on Facebook Live via either the Washington Revels and Carpe Diem Arts  Facebook pages. (If stream is not active at one of these links, check the other.)

The Community Sings are a partnership of Carpe Diem Arts and Washington Revels, with in-kind support from Takoma Radio. We will continue holding the Sings online until it is safe to gather again.
