Hear Jubilee at This New Festival!
The Washington Revels Jubilee Voices will present two performances at the inaugural Chesapeake Music Festival on the campus of the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center. From 3:30-4 pm, join the Voices at the Main Stage for work songs, menhaden chanteys, sea chanteys, Georgia Sea Island songs, and spirituals. Then from 4:45-5:15, head over to the Story-Telling Tent for stories (and more music!) from the African American tradition.
While you’re there, take in the beautiful vista of SERC’s 18th-century mansion ruins that overlook the Bay — and, of course, enjoy food, drinks, and more local talent all afternoon long!
