July 13 – Jubilee Voices at Fort Stevens

Learn the Local Impact of the Civil War

The Washington Revels Jubilee Voices join the Alliance to Preserve the Civil War Defenses of Washington and the National Park Service in commemorating the 155th anniversary of the Battle of Fort Stevens. The Voices will open the ceremonies with a performance of traditional African American music from the Civil War era. Following the proceedings, the celebration will continue through 4 pm with family-friendly activities, such as period music & dancing, living history interpretations, and a Kids & Teens tent.
