September 9 – National Cathedral Picnic & Sing

Join Washington Revels, The InterFaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington, and Washington National Cathedral for an Interfaith Picnic Community Sing. Andrea Blackford, director of Jubilee Voices, will lead us in songs celebrating peace, joy, harmony, and community, and we would love your help as we introduce the other picnickers to what Revels is all about! Besides the music-making, there will be art and other activities on the Cathedral’s west lawn. Get to know neighbors from the community and around the region as we share a meal and celebrate together. The evening concludes with Havdalah (the Jewish ritual that marks the end of Shabbat).

The Interfaith Picnic is part of the 2017 Unity Walk, which will take place on Sunday, September 10th. Join ICW, the Cathedral, and people of all faiths and cultures from around the DC region for this walk down “Embassy Row” as they visit houses of worship and other religious centers in a public celebration of unity and support for our diverse community! The Unity Walk is open and free to everyone.

Please let Revels know if you plan to attend the Sing by emailing Ross Wixon at rwixon@revelsdc.org. Visit the Cathedral’s event website for more information about the Saturday picnic and to RSVP. You can register here for the Sunday Unity Walk. The Interfaith Picnic and Unity Walk are sponsored by The InterFaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington and Washington National Cathedral.
