Celebrate DC Emancipation Day

On April 16, 1862, slavery was abolished in the District of Columbia, liberating more than 3,000 enslaved persons, eight months before the Emancipation Proclamation freed slaves in the South. On April 10, join Jubilee Voices in a spirited celebration of that “Great Day” at  St. Martin of Tours Church, with songs, stories, history, and more!
