Maritime Voices performs in concert with a special tribute to Jean Ritchie
Once again, Maritime Voices can be found at the Takoma Park Folk Festival! Join in on a full day of music and activities, including Maritime Voices’ performance of songs of the sea and of the inland waterways of America. The performance includes songs that celebrate the men who worked the great sailing ships, the women who sustained the shore-side communities, and the men and women who lived and worked on the canals, lakes and rivers. You’ll also hear some songs made popular by extraordinary traditional folk musician and NEA Heritage Award recipient, Jean Ritchie, whose life and contributions will be honored at this year’s festival. Enjoy some great music and join in on the sing-alongs!
