Come to Glen Echo Park for a celebration of visual and performing arts! From hands-on art activities, to musical performances, to dance performances and workshops, and open studios and galleries, there’s something fun for everyone to explore! Check out all the activities on the Echo Arts Festival website. Plus, September 28 marks the final day of the 2025 carousel season–don’t miss your final chance to ride the 1921 Dentzel Carousel!
As part of the fun, Washington Revels Heritage Voices will perform a program of Civil Rights era music at 2:30pm in the Spanish Ballroom. Come and join in the singing!
Later in the day, see a Latin American mummers play, inspired by traveling La Carpa–tent shows that toured Mexico and the southwestern U.S. in the early 1900s. What makes our heroine, Soleada, so sad? It’s when the weather turns cooler, the leaves fall from the trees, and she can feel the waning light and longer nights. Perhaps her new friend Otoño can–with help from the audience–create something special that brings warm memories and a surprise guest.
The Echo Arts Festival is a free event that runs from 12-5 pm, with unique opportunities to delve into the arts. Bring the family and enjoy a beautiful day at the park!
