Celebrate Black History Month in Alexandria, VA

For Black History Month, Washington Revels Jubilee Voices and the Office of Historic Alexandria’s Division of African American History will celebrate African American music, history and culture in a concert exploring the themes of freedom, resistance and resilience, from the Civil War through the present day. Join us for an afternoon of traditional African American spirituals, poetry, dance, stories, and audience participation.

Black History Month is an annual recognition and celebration of the history, culture, achievements and contributions of African Americans and persons of African descent in U.S. history.
