June 21 – Juneteenth Community Sing!

On Wednesday, June 21 (6:30pm ET), join artists Kathy Bullock, Melanie DeMore, and Tret Fure for a joyful virtual gathering to sing in community with others. The June Carpe Diem Community Sing will celebrate both Juneteenth and PRIDE month.

Carpe Diem Arts hosted the first Community Sing on June 21, 2012 at the Historic Silver Spring B&O Train Station, which was once the home of Class Acts Arts. They later moved to the Silver Spring Civic Building soon after it opened, then to Seekers Church in Takoma. During the COVID pandemic, the sings moved online.

Presented by Carpe Diem Arts and Washington Revels.

Carpe Diem Arts hosted the first Community Sing on June 21, 2012. Since then, there has been a Community Sing on the 21st of every month, including during the COVID pandemic, when the sings moved online. Carpe Diem Community Sings now remain a free and open virtual singing space to combat issues of isolation and accessibility, offering song leaders, hosts, and musical styles from around the world. Attendees can sing along to music both new and familiar, while building community and finding connection.
