March — and sing if you like — in the 130th Takoma Park Independence Day Parade!
All Revelers, all ages, both veteran and new, are invited to join our colorful and lively parade unit — let’s show a special summer side of Washington Revels to thousands of July 4th spectators! If you prefer, come sit curbside and cheer with the festive crowd.

As always, our joyous and robust band of revelers — adults, teens, and children — will be a vibrant and distinctive section of this historic parade. We’ll dress in white (or as close as you can get) and Washington Revels will supply multi-colored sashes and arm ribbons. We will be accompanied by the Hobby Horse, “Snap the Dragon,” and a Smiling Sun, plus bright flags, banners, ribbon sticks and more! Kids are welcome (including kids in strollers), and older ones will have their own song to sing; children under 13 must be accompanied in the parade by a responsible adult. We’ll also need adult flyer-hander-outers, so non-singers are encouraged to participate! If you play an instrument that can be easily carried and you would like to be in the band, let us know that as well. To march with us, please send an email by July 2nd to parade@revelsdc.org with your name, phone number, and the name(s) of anyone coming with you (plus the ages of anyone 13 and under), and we will email you the details (including a song sheet with words and links to the music).
