Washington Revels announces children’s auditions for The Christmas Revels—An English Country Christmas Under the Greenwood Tree. Be part of one of the Washington, D.C. area’s best loved holiday traditions!
For our 42nd annual Revels, we celebrate an English country Christmas taken from author Thomas Hardy’s warm memories of the winter holidays in 19th-century England. Quirky characters, a budding romance, rustic tunes, and rousing dances come together in this delightful story. Our multigenerational cast—ages 8 to 92—will be joined by local traditional musicians from the Whiskey Before Breakfast Band and the Washington Revels Brass in a fully staged holiday production featuring pub carols, joyful anthems, Revels favorites, and many opportunities for the audience to join in!
Washington Revels children love to sing, are enthusiastic about bringing music to life on stage, and come from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and experience levels.
WHO: Children entering grades 3-6 (generally, ages 8-12)
DATES/TIMES: Friday, September 6 (5:30 p.m.) and Saturday, September 7 (10:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.).
