January 14 – Jubilee Voices Celebrate the Life and Legacy of MLK at Augustana Lutheran Church

Martin Luther King, Jr.

This Sunday, join Washington Revels Jubilee Voices as they bring their unique blend of history, music, and spoken word to lead a special worship service honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at Augustana Lutheran Church. The group, now in its 14th year, will present traditional African American spirituals, poetry and readings, and lead the congregational singing, joined by the Augustana choir.

Come hear—and sing—songs of faith, freedom and justice. The worship service will be followed with a reception, where attendees can meet the artists.

Located in the heart of Washington, D.C., Augustana Lutheran Church welcomes the participation of people of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, educational backgrounds, and economic conditions. Whoever you are, whatever your faith tradition, whatever your story, you are welcome.
