Washington Revels is rooted in deep ties that unite performers, volunteers, and enthusiasts through traditional performing arts and the communal values that underlie them. Whether musical, theatrical or both, Revels celebrations connect us to the past and future, through all the generations in between – a special relationship that is rare in our world nowadays.

Washington Revels is non-profit, and most of what we offer is free-of-charge to the audience. Some highlights from 2011:

• A Christmas Revels celebrating Jewish, Arabic and Spanish music, dance and drama.
• After-school workshops for grades K-5
• SunFest, a multi-cultural celebration of the summer solstice
• Two CDs, one of French Canadian music and dance and the other featuring American music of the Civil War Era
• Historical DVD in partnership with Heritage Montgomery, Life in a War Zone: Montgomery County during the Civil War 1861-1865
• Events all year long with our four highly-acclaimed ensembles: Gallery Voices, Heritage Voices, Jubilee Voices and Maritime Voices
• Over 1,000 free tickets to low-income individuals for the outreach performance of The Christmas Revels

We cannot accomplish our mission of creating community through celebration without your participation. And like most arts organizations, we cannot operate on ticket sales alone. We depend upon the generous support of friends, businesses, and foundation donors to carry out our programs year-round. Corporate, foundation and individual sponsorships of Revels events range in price from $1,000 to $100,000, and offer varying levels of publicity and other benefits. Events eligible for sponsorship include:

• Spring celebrations
• Washington Revels SunFest

• Individual scholarships for After-School Workshops
• Community Initiative productions
• Christmas Revels Outreach Performance
