November 2 – Jubilee Voices at Button Farm

Celebrate Maryland Emancipation Day!

The Washington Revels Jubilee Voices joins Button Farm Living History Center for a celebration of Maryland Emancipation Day, commemorating 155 years of freedom in Maryland.

Enjoy a performance of traditional African American music by the Voices from 2:30-3:30 pm. All afternoon long, everyone in the family can enjoy music, food, games, crafts, demonstrations and a tour of the Button Farm Slave Cemetery.

This performance is supported by two grants from the Heritage Tourism Alliance of Montgomery County (Heritage Montgomery) for research and performance of ancestral music and stories from communities that make up the African American Heritage Trail.
