June 21 – Community Sing

DSCN1786

Celebrate the Summer Solstice with Special Guests Meredith Buck & Althea Grey-McKenzie!

Kick off the summer with us in Bennington Drive Park! Our June Carpe Diem Arts-Washington Revels Family & Community Sing will be a celebration of the Summer Solstice and International “Make Music” Day! The evening includes a potluck dinner, so please bring a tasty dish to share. We’ll be joined by guest song-leader Meredith Buck (by way of California) who will lead us in the “Eel River Chant.” Also joining us will be Althea Grey-McKenzie & Friends leading us in traditional Caribbean songs and dances to celebrate Caribbean-American Heritage Month.  A perfect way to celebrate the longest day of the year!

Sign up in advance to lead a song by contacting Jo Rasi (jrasi@revelsdc.org or 301-587-3835). Or just show up to sing (or even just to listen)!

  • 6:30-7:30 pm -Potluck picnic supper, dessert, including candle and cake for June birthday celebrants
  • 7:30-8:30 pm -Songs and simple dances with Meredith Buck and Althea Grey-McKenzie and friends
