Celebrate the life and legacy of activist, orator, and statesman Frederick Douglass during this landmark celebration!

Jubilee Voices will perform during the opening ceremonies of the Frederick Douglass Bicentennial Birthday Celebration on February 17, 10:25 am-12:00 pm, at the Frederick Douglass Historic Site. Guest speakers include Kenneth B. Morris, the great-great-great grandson of Douglass and co-founder of the Frederick Douglass Family Initiative, historians David Blight and Leigh Fought, and actors Phil Darius Wallace and Fred Morsell.

The National Park Service’s celebration takes place over two days (February 17–18) with special programs and activities at the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site and the Anacostia Arts Center (located at 1231 Good Hope Road in historic Anacostia). The birthday celebration is one of the site’s annual signature events – this year, it is also the kick-off for a whole season of Frederick Douglass Bicentennial programs!
